Created using the slurry process, which combines an optical polymer with acrylic monomer. As the slurry congeals, it is poured into molds made from full-scale positives. Polymerization is achieved by applying heat to the mix while it is under 100 PSI. Textures are created in the positive and captured by the mold. Polished surfaces are created using hand tools, diamond abrasives, and optical polishing compounds.
Cast Acrylic.
Welded Copper.
Made from salvaged residential copper pipe and electrical ground conductors. The material is run through a rolling mill to the desired thickness. Wooden structures are used as forms. Small sections of copper are bent and hammered to the form. The sections are then welded together with oxygen and acetylene.
